Dan, you want to hear the really nerdy part? The reason I could elucidate regarding the two Schneider Componon-S 50mm variants is down to curiosity getting the better of me and contacting the Company and asking. I had a very pleasant and informative email conversation with, as it turned out, the guy who designed the later six-element version. He was a really nice chap and kind enough to engage with this weirdo..
A lot of it went over my head, but you still make it an enjoyable read. Your enthusiasm shines through enabling me to skim over the techy bits. I bet you find some real gems in that archive! 👏🤠
Many thanks, Dave, much appreciated. Indeed, some gems.. and my fair share of duffers lol. At tge moment I'm scanning a lot of pics from my wife's side of the family (lots of memories for as they go back to her childhood). Hopefully soon, as time allows, I'll slowly catch up with my own film developing backlog, so should gave a few to look at from that. All good fun 🙂
Many thanks, Andi. No doubt there are more 'mainstream' outfits, but it does the job beautifully, the results speak for themselves. Anyway, I appreciate your words. I hope all's well in the photographic/dark room realm for you 🙂
I’m here for the nerd fest!
Ralph: you may want to skip this portion
Me: *reads harder*
Glad to hear my namesakes are doing right by people. Although they’ve forgotten to send me my profit sharing checks for the past 40+ years…
Haha! Maybe you’ll have to tap ‘em up! 😉

II have to smile at this wildly, nerdy and very creative approach to digitizing your archive of negatives!! You do you, and impressive!!
