The Lakes 2015
Part Three: Further adventures.
First post of ‘25 and a continuation, in these gloomy days, of a look back to the summer of ‘15 and our trip to the Lake District. This time a few more pictures, a few less words..

One very pleasant afternoon was spent enjoying afternoon tea whilst admiring beautiful views out across the Hotel gardens towards Windermere and the fells beyond.

Of course, no trip to the Lakes is complete without a jaunt out on a steamer on Lake Conniston…

A walk along the western flank of Lake Windermere near Claife was a quieter but no less enjoyable experience.

The area has it’s fair share of castles. Wray Castle is, perhaps, not quite as old as it seems, despite it’s turrets and gothic grandeur. James Dawson, a retired Liverpudlian surgeon, built it in 1840.

Thank you for joining me on my trip down memory lane into the beauty of The Lakes. I hope you enjoyed the journey. If you did, perhaps you might consider making a contribution to our collective future and plant a tree or visit:

Lovely pics. The fern looks like a dragon! 🐉 🙂
Love that last one 'weathered'!
