I used to see deer all the time when I lived in Oregon. They would hang in the neighborhood a lot. There was even a deer farm down the road from us. Such beautiful creatures. I don’t see them too often where I live now, but when I do, it truly is a spectacle for the eyes. 😍
There are quite a lot around here, though they do on occasion suffer a certain amount of persecution from the estate that surrounds us. A lot of the immediate area beyond our garden belongs to them and is part of a large tree plantation, so numbers get 'managed'. With no natural predators, I can up to a point understand why (though, perhaps, not how) they do it, but it still doesn't sit easy with me.
Still, on the positive side, at least we do get to see them. As far as we're concerned, our garden is a safe haven for them, even if their style of 'gardening' is rather different to ours.. 🙂
I love that they have a safe haven in your garden. Sad they face persecution though. I get it. But being an animal lover, I feel all animals have the right to live and roam freely.
What a fun visitor! 💜
Indeed!
Aint nature Brilliant!
Absolutely.

How lovely to have these nocturnal visitors - it looks like this gardener is working on raising the yews crown!
Lol, yes. Apparently, despite the yew being poisonous, deer can and do still gnaw away at it this time of year.
