How awesome! I LOVE Duran Duran. They were the first band I ever saw in concert. My teenaged bedroom was covered in their posters. There was a little record store in the New Jersey town next to mine that I would go to periodically called, Things From England, to buy their British releases. I still have all those albums.
Many thanks, Alicia. It sounds like your teenage bedroom was remarkably similar to my wife’s, from what I understand😎. I suspect the two of you would have rather a lot to talk about lol.
Thank you very much, Alex, much appreciated. The stage 'Fox' was on one of the slightly smaller stages inside a marquee. When folks saw my wife in her power chair they were incredibly gracious in allowing us to get within 'spitting distance' of the stage. Using my long zoom from that distance I could see every wrinkle. Once or twice I seemed to be getting a bit of a momentary hard stare from himself, though that could just be my paranoia lol.
Great photos Ralph, of course if you’re as old as me you know how long Irene has been listening to DD. 😂 You’re brave people, I’m not sure I could cope with a festival these days. Thanks for sharing. D
Thanks, Dave. Yes, they've been a lifelong passion for her, in some ways more so since their comeback of the original five in 2003, but that's another rather long story lol.
We're not overly fond of large crowds, either. We just do our own thing, see the acts we want, then head out again. A single day is enough to cope with at any event.
What a fun time Ralph - it looks like you both had a wonderful day and were blessed with good weather...so no wellies! You've captured some great images of the day - your shots of David Duchovny stand out for me, but all of them tell the story of your visit.
It's been a long time since I went to a festival, I have to admit I like my home comforts too much now, although I do regret not getting to Glastonbury for Bowie... but what a memorable experience for Irene to see her favourite band there! 😊
Many thanks, Lin, much appreciated. My missus would love to have seen Bowie, too. One band I was fortunate enough to see, at what turned out to be their last ever gig as they were, was Queen at Knebworth back in '86. What an amazing day that was.
Wow Queen! Now that I would have loved to have seen! I'm a real Bowie fan and I've been really fortunate to see him a few times over the years in his many guises, the last was his final concert in 2003 at Wembley Arena - such an icon and he was probably better than the first time I saw him in the 70's!
Wow.. I can think of a few folks I know that would be a little envious. Dare I say it, though, I've never really got into his music myself, though there have been a few songs I've rather liked. My loss, I guess. 🥴🙂
It's been a while since I attended a Festival. I managed to get to Donnington in 1986 and Glastonbury before it went corporate. I haven't done one since as ticket prices are just too expensive for me.
Donnington and Glastonbury are two festivals I've often fancied in the past but never got round to. The funny thing is, although it's still not a huge number, we've been to more festivals in recent years (albeit usually on a particular day to see particular acts rather than a whole weekend) than either of us did in our younger years.

These are great! A real view to a kill! 😜 But my favourites are of David Duchovny you really nailed those!

Been so long since I’ve been to a large outdoor concert. Ive grown uncomfortable in large crowds in the USA.

So fun! "Ordinary World" by Duran Duran is one of my favorite songs.
Thanks, Rachel🙂. I just asked my missus what her fave is. She said "don't ask, 'cos it's like asking which is your favourite child) 😏
😂

Me and Camping don't get along anymore. I used to love spending a weekend in a tent, but my bones wont let me do it now.
Sorry to hear it's no longer an option for you. Indeed, camping can be great fun (when your bones let you).
I had all my fun when I was young and a lot fitter than I am now. Photography gets me out for a walk in the sunshine, that'll do me.
This was our first time there, just for the day. Relaxed and enjoyable for folks of all ages. Lovely setting, too (once you find your way in lol).
